Block 71 is on the ground level of a corner office building, with plenty of glass letting in ample daylight. It is of course, indoors and air-conditioned. The city of San Francisco can be a little chilly in the summer, though it should be sunny and mostly warm in the afternoon. We expect you should be comfortable inside without a coat - so dress like you would in Singapore! A coat room will be available should you need to store small bags, strollers, coats, or umbrellas.
Block 71 San Francisco is the perfect launchpad for start-ups striving to establish themselves in the US and Singapore tech ecosystems. It is a collaborative initiative between three iconic Singapore organizations - NUS Enterprise, Infocomm Investments Pte Ltd (IIPL) and Singtel Innov8. It serves to integrate Singapore tech companies exploring business opportunities in the US into the local ecosystem seamlessly, and function as a gateway for US-based movers and shakers interested in the Southeast Asia markets.
We will be actively shooting video footage of the event for a Singapore TV programme to be shown on Happy TV on National Day. You are welcome to shoot your own photos and videos, and share actively on social media especially back home. Our volunteer video-crew will also go around to interview you with these questions:
- What's your name?
- Will you be watching the parade from San Francisco?
- Is there anything you want to say to those of us back home?
- What is your big wish for Singapore?
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
All are welcome. You do not have to be a Singaporean. There is no ID requirement, nor age limits, but the organisers reserve the right to reject registrations without a valid name or email address. We kindly ask that you be respectful of the occasion and your fellow participants by engaging in behaviour appropriate to the celebration.
