To help recreate Singapore, the garden city, would you have potted plants you can loan to us for the event? Preferably if you can drop them off at the venue on Saturday to be setup for Sunday, and bring them back on Monday.
We would love your help to cover the cost of distributing a couple of press releases across BusinessWire. And, perhaps you know of other channels to advertise and publicise the event to reach out, not just to the Singaporean and friends, but to the entire US population.
We have a number of entertainers, actors, crew and volunteers that are travelling from other parts of the US, and possibly even the world, to perform or help with the Singapore Festival event. Some of them are performing pro bono or for a small honorarium only. If you have a spare bedroom, ADU, guest room, or can help get discounts for hotels, or can help point to places that can offer accommodation, especially during the event week (i.e. 9/17 - 9/22), anything could help.
Or, if you have hotel points, airline points/miles, that you can donate and help sponsor the accommodation or travel for these folks, we and them would appreciate such sponsorship as well.
Help move items between where they are stored before the event to the event venue, and back, after the event.
Ditto with people, especially those travelling, or without cars, between their accommodation and the event venue (San Mateo Event Center) or as needed, before and after the event.
Extra large Batik shirt needed for our Actor in our Immersive Theatre. In our theatre production of Singapore's Road to Independence, we are in need of a Batik shirt for one of our characters. If not Batik, then a Chinese Samfu style top is also welcomed. He will be needing it for the day, and will be washed and returned after the Festival. XL, please!
Support us in printing of 3 banners and 10+ signs - to acknowledge sponsors and for naming of SuperTrees, Immersive Theatre, Marketplace Booths, etc
We have many items that we like to give away or use as prizes, etc., that were donated by various enterprises in Singapore, and we need to get them over to SFO. A member of our team can coordinate to help take it off you there or at your place.
Any capacity you can offer, such as an extra standard sized check-in box or bag you can bring, or some space in your current check-in or carry-on, will be welcome.
Whether for driving the LED wall at the venue, or for helping manage the recording of the stage performances, or for registration and check-in, if you have a laptop or tablet you can loan over for the weekend (9/20-9/21), it would help relieve us having to buy or rent one.
Maybe you have a way to get food more inexpensively than us paying for it, or you would like to cook a delicious meal, to treat our hardworking and dedicated volunteers? Something yummy would be so appreciated, especially during the week prior for rehearsals, setup day, event day, or teardown day.
Perhaps you already know of an entertainer, performer, and artist, and you would like to specifically help us have them perform or create art for the Singapore Festival. How about sponsoring their engagement fees, or travel/accommodation costs associated?
A highlight of the Singapore Festival is an immersive theatre where live actors will engage with our attendees to present the Singapore Story! To save their vocal cords, we'll need theatre-style mics and receivers to mic them up. Would you have the ability to loan them or help us get them at a discount?
We will have some items, being received or procured for the event, that we need storage before and after the event. It could be have a business with some extra storage, like a storage unit, or space you have in your garage, that you can loan out to store things.
Foldable tables, any size,(so that we stop working like Amazon in year 1 with makeshift tables), for the team to use such as both backstage and for various operations.
To make signs, packing lists, etc
The venue is charging about $600 for getting Internet access. This would enable a live video stream during the fireside chat from a remote speaker. Would anyone have a Starlink terminal that they can loan for the day?
Whether an enthusiastic amateur or a professional photographer or videographer, we would be grateful for your support to capture the enthusiasm and energy of this inaugural event, including during the setup day and other volunteer meetups.
Do you have some item, be it a game, decor, memorabilia (like an old coin phone?), poster, artwork, lights, portable loudhailer, etc. that you don't see listed, but will not mind donating or loaning? Feel free to fill this in or drop an email to us to describe.
