Serene spent 11 years in an Australian Bank, where she lived and worked across Shanghai, long Kong, Taiwan, Australia and Singapore being placed across more than 12 functions in the bank. Her last role was as Director and Global Sustainability Coordinator for the Global Division. There were various highlights in her banking career, but she learnt that moving financial resources for powerful institutions was a very narrow aspect in life.
A national netball athlete for Singapore (and then Hong Kong) from Combined Schools, to U21 to the National Opens Team, Serene competed in the Asian Championships and other international matches. She captained teams at national leagues and was awarded the Most Valuable Defender.
Appointed into the Singapore Young Leaders Forum in 2019, Serene was identified influential young leader, where her cohort interacted with key government leaders to understand the insights/insides of how to lead a nation. She has also been invited as a panelist & judge in being business and future ready the world we live in.
